              There is something lacking that I cannot put my finger on this replica; it serves its purpose as a general resemblance of Dali's original work. My biggest qualm is over the bottom most type on the poster; I have yet to find a frame that accommodates the display of type without truncating it. Quite frustrating.

              Melting watches and insects against a Spanish coastal background are two of the trademark symbols Salvador Dali uses in his expression of the destruction of atomic weapons in “Soft Watch at the Moment of First Explosion.” Dali, as eccentric as his artwork, broke artistic ground with a Surrealistic style containing extraordinarily realistic detail and bold, disturbingly dreamlike images. Influenced by Freud’s writings regarding dreams and the subconscious, Dali exposed his era’s fears, hopes and frustrations.

              Poster is made of 50% recycled fiber.

              About the Artist

              Flamboyant and groundbreaking Spanish artist Salvador Dali is considered one of the 20th century’s greatest artists. An icon of the Surrealist movement his blend of eccentric perspectives and controversial influences resulted in wildly imaginative, unforgettable dreamscapes that are uniquely Dali. Inspired by Freud, Dali accessed his subconscious to create more intense artistic expression.
