About the Artist
Internationally renowned, groundbreaking artist Justin Bua honors the urban underground’s cultural significance in his art. Bua was strongly influenced and inspired by the raw, visceral street scene of his native New York City, as well as the fledgling Hip Hop movement which sparked his distinctive “Distorted Urban Realism” style. Initially a commercial artist, Bua created skateboards, CD covers, clothing and ad campaigns. With foundations in classical art, Bua’s work speaks a universal language of urban rhythms and graffiti to society’s insiders and outcasts, breaking the barriers between heroes and underdogs.
