From Hollywood, California, Coleman was a Walt Disney Studios' mailroom worker who became a background animation specialist for several decades. His art graced many Disney classics, but he eventually dedicated himself to painting full-time. Creating glistening, Impressionistic images, Coleman says he tries “to push the statement I am making to its ultimate, both in design and use of color.”
